A series of training sessions has successfully concluded in the city of Muynak as part of the project “Youth and Women as Ambassadors of Sustainable Tourism in Karakalpakstan”, implemented by the DMO Karakalpakstan Public Association with the financial support of the European Union, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the Yuksalish Movement.
Over the course of three days, participants explored the fundamentals of sustainable tourism, environmental issues and climate change, as well as leadership, advocacy, and the promotion of local initiatives. The training program combined theoretical sessions with practical activities aimed at developing project management, communication, and effective local initiative promotion skills.
Particularly inspiring was the active participation of women and young people from the Muynak District. Initially, the program was designed for 10 participants; however, due to strong interest, 12 participants from different communities across the district joined the training. Despite family responsibilities and busy schedules, many women were able to attend, while some traveled more than 25 kilometers daily (from APJ Madeli) to participate in the sessions and not miss any part of the training.
During the closing ceremony, participants were awarded certificates recognizing the successful completion of the training program. Welcoming remarks were delivered by M. Jumabayev, Deputy Khokim of Muynak District for Youth Policy, Social Development, and Spiritual and Educational Affairs, and M. Kosnazarov, Director of the DMO Karakalpakstan Public Association. They congratulated the participants on completing the program and emphasized the importance of applying the acquired knowledge in practice.
The organizers expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills gained during the training will help participants become active agents of positive change, develop local initiatives, and contribute to the sustainable development of Muynak District and Karakalpakstan as a whole.
