The first training session under the project “Youth and Women as Ambassadors of Sustainable Tourism in Karakalpakstan” was held in Muynak. The project is implemented by DMO Karakalpakstan with financial support from the European Union, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the Yuksalish Nationwide Movement.

The first day focused on sustainable tourism and the development of local tourism initiatives. Participants explored modern approaches to tourism development, learned about international best practices, and discussed opportunities to harness the tourism potential of their communities and local areas.

Special attention was given to the role of youth and women in tourism development, as well as to the creation of tourism products based on local culture, traditions, gastronomy, and the natural heritage of Karakalpakstan.

During the practical sessions, participants analyzed the tourism resources of their regions, exchanged ideas, and began developing their own local initiatives aimed at promoting tourism and increasing the attractiveness of the region.

The training series continues. Today, participants are focusing on environmental issues, climate change, and environmentally responsible tourism, while the final day will be dedicated to leadership, advocacy, and the promotion of local initiatives.

We believe that the knowledge and skills gained through this program will help participants become true ambassadors of sustainable tourism and contribute to the sustainable development of Karakalpakstan.
