Ramsar Strategy Development Team Visited the DMO Karakalpakstan Office  

On March 14, 2025, the Ramsar Strategy Development Team for Uzbekistan visited the DMO Karakalpakstan office. The delegation included representatives from GIZ, the Michael Succow Foundation, as well as international and national experts in ecology and sustainable development.  

During the meeting, we presented the activities of DMO Karakalpakstan aimed at developing sustainable tourism in the region, discussed the potential of ecotourism, and explored opportunities for cooperation. Special attention was given to Lake Sudoche, a key Ramsar Convention natural site in the region, which plays a crucial role in biodiversity conservation and ecotourism.  

The dialogue with experts provided an opportunity to exchange views and outline steps for further collaboration. We appreciate the team’s visit and look forward to fruitful cooperation in developing ecotourism and environmental protection initiatives in Karakalpakstan!
