On May 22, 2026, a meeting of the Coordination Council for Tourism Development in the Republic of Karakalpakstan was held with the participation of representatives of government institutions, businesses, and the tourism sector.

The meeting was opened with a welcoming speech by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, R. Zarikeyev, who emphasized the importance of joint efforts for the development of tourism in the region.

Director of DMO Karakalpakstan, M. Kosnazarov, highlighted the need to create a modern tourism image of Karakalpakstan and promote the region in both domestic and international markets.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the presentation of recommended quality standards in the region’s gastronomic business. Project expert A. Seitakhov presented the service quality standards for public catering establishments developed within the framework of the project.

During the meeting, participants also discussed the creation of a unified database of tourism packages, the promotion of local tourism products, and the region’s participation in international tourism exhibitions and forums.

The meeting was held in an open dialogue format and became an important step toward the development of Karakalpakstan’s tourism potential.
