On April 23 of this year, the forum “Destination Karakalpakstan 2026” took place, aimed at developing the tourism potential of the region, strengthening international cooperation, and creating a platform for dialogue between government bodies, the private sector, and foreign partners. The main goal of the event was to promote Karakalpakstan as a promising tourist destination, as well as to find new formats of interaction and attract tourists.

The public association DMO Karakalpakstan also took part in the forum. Within the framework of the event, the organization delivered a presentation on the tourism potential of the region, presenting key directions for the development of the industry.

During the presentation, the opportunities for the development of community-based tourism (CBT), gastronomic and ecotourism were highlighted, and the importance of preserving authenticity and involving local communities in tourism activities was emphasized. Special attention was paid to the unique nature of Karakalpakstan, its cultural heritage, and the prospects for creating new tourism products.

In addition, representatives of DMO Karakalpakstan held a number of meetings with international partners and tour operators, during which prospects for cooperation and joint initiatives for the development of the tourist destination were discussed.
