A working meeting with international experts in sustainable tourism, Marius Thummrich and Shakhnoza Sayfudinova, representing Partners in Transformation – Import Promotion Desk (Germany), was held at the DMO Karakalpakstan office.

During the meeting, the DMO Karakalpakstan team presented the tourism potential of Karakalpakstan, the organization’s activities, its mission and strategic goals, as well as projects implemented in cooperation with GIZ and other international partners. Special attention was given to the ongoing project “QR Gastronomy Quality,” implemented within the framework of a social order by the Public Fund under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For their part, the experts introduced the key areas of activity of Partners in Transformation - Import Promotion Desk and shared practical experience in promoting tourism services in the European market and implementing sustainable tourism principles.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to develop cooperation in the following areas:

-    tourism marketing;

-    digital marketing in tourism;

-     promotion of Karakalpakstan’s tourism potential in the European market;

-     development of competitive tourism products.

This partnership opens up new opportunities for integrating the region into the international tourism market and increasing its recognition among European tourists.
