On April 17, 2026, a master class was held at the public association DMO Karakalpakstan with the participation of a gastronomy tourism expert from Balıkesir University, Dr. Nilgun Karaman.
During the master class, the experience of Turkey in the field of gastronomic tourism was discussed in detail, including standards of gastronomic service in the country, requirements for the quality and composition of dishes, and opportunities for implementing this experience in Karakalpakstan. The Turkish expert also elaborated on the prospects for the development of gastronomic tourism in the region.
The event, attended by staff and experts of DMO Karakalpakstan as well as representatives of the gastronomic business sector of Karakalpakstan, was held within the framework of the project “QR Gastronomic Quality” implemented under a social order from the Public Fund under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The knowledge and experience gained will be used in the development of service standards in the public catering sector, which are currently being worked on by experts of DMO Karakalpakstan.
