A seminar was held at the Faculty of Economics of Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, organized by the public association “DMO Karakalpakstan”. The director of the organization, M. Kosnazarov, presented to students, as well as members of the “Tourism Club” and “Economists” clubs, the tourist potential of the region, its unique nature, cultural heritage, and current global trends.

Today, travelers increasingly seek not just trips, but experiences and meaningful encount - therefore, interest is growing in eco-routes, expeditions, personalized travel, and little-known, authentic destinations.

Special attention was given to the role of youth. It was noted that their ideas, initiatives, modern perspectives, and understanding of the interconnection between ecology, tourism, and the economy can become a driving force for the sustainable development of the sector.

Participants were also informed about ongoing projects. In cooperation with GIZ, work is being carried out to strengthen the interaction between the public and private sectors, as well as to develop cultural and historical tourism. Moreover, within the framework of the “QR Gastronomic Quality” project, implemented under a social order of the Public Fund under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an electronic platform and mobile applications are being introduced to help improve the quality of tourist services.

At the end of the seminar, students who actively participated in the “Youth Eco Patrol” campaign were awarded certificates for their volunteer activities.
