A meeting with international experts from Japan was held at DMO Karakalpakstan - Mr. Tomihiko Sato, Director of the organization Japan Business Skills Development, and Professor Tadashi Onodera, Director of the Education and Research Center for Entrepreneurship.

During the meeting, the Director of DMO Karakalpakstan, M. Kosnazarov, presented information about the Republic of Karakalpakstan, its infrastructure, rich historical and cultural heritage, gastronomic tourism, and the wide opportunities of the region’s tourism potential.

The guests were also introduced to the results of previously implemented activities carried out within the framework of the joint project of GIZ (German Society for International Cooperation) and DMO Karakalpakstan. These initiatives were aimed at developing the region’s tourism infrastructure, improving the quality of tourism services, and promoting the tourism potential of Karakalpakstan at the international level.

In addition, a presentation was delivered on the currently ongoing project “QR Gastronomic Quality: Assessment and Improvement of the Gastronomic Quality of Tourism Services to Increase the Attractiveness of Karakalpakstan.” The project is being implemented under the social order of the Public Fund for the Support of Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, during the meeting the parties discussed opportunities for establishing international cooperation in the tourism sector, exchanging experience with Japan in the development of tourism destinations, as well as in Community-Based Tourism (CBT).
