On February 27, 2026, a meeting of the Coordinating Council was held, dedicated to the development of the gastronomic business and the improvement of the quality of tourist services in the region.

The meeting was opened with an introductory speech by the Director of DMO Karakalpakstan, M. Kosnazarov, who presented the results of the work carried out within the framework of the "QR Gastronomic Quality" project. This project is implemented as part of the "QR Gastronomic Quality: Enhancing the Tourist Attractiveness of Karakalpakstan through Assessment and Improvement of the Quality of Tourist Services," carried out under the social order of the Fund under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The lawyer of DMO Karakalpakstan, A. Seytaxov, delivered a presentation on the international experience in developing the gastronomy sector and the possibilities of implementing this experience in the region.

Participants were also introduced to the mobile application "QR Gastronomy Quality". This application allows visitors and tourists to evaluate the quality of services in catering establishments in real time.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to discussing proposals for the development of the gastronomic sector in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, including the following areas:

-         improving service quality in restaurants and cafes;

-         using local products and forming the gastronomic identity of the region;

-         developing human resources and implementing training programs;

-         applying the principles of environmental sustainability and responsible consumption.

The meeting was attended by members of the Council, business representatives, and relevant organizations.
