Recently, as part of a training on rural tourism development in Samarkand, Mr. M. Kosnazarov, Chairman of the public association DMO Karakalpakstan, presented Karakalpakstan’s experience in developing tourism destinations.

The presentation provided detailed information about the first destination management organization (DMO) in Uzbekistan - DMO Karakalpakstan  and the projects implemented by the organization.

 In particular, it highlighted: dialogue between the public and private sectors conducted jointly with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), implementation of the “QR Gastronomic Quality” project under the social order of the Public Foundation under the Oliy Majlis and other projects carried out in cooperation with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Tourism Committee.

The event, organized at the initiative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), attracted great interest from participants, who paid close attention to Karakalpakstan’s experience in developing its tourism sector.
