On the 8th of November, 2025 a meeting of the Coordinating Council for the Development of Tourism in the Republic of Karakalpakstan was held in the meeting hall of the Karakalpakstan Republican Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, where the project "QR Gastronomic Quality: Improving the Tourist Attractiveness of Karakalpakstan through Evaluation and Improving the Quality of Tourist Services" was presented.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan R. Zarikeev, Director of DMO Karakalpakstan M. Kosnazarov, representatives of government bodies, tourism industry, gastronomic business and public organizations.

R. Zarikeev emphasized the importance of a systematic approach to developing the region's tourism potential and improving the quality of tourist services.

Director of DMO Karakalpakstan M. Kosnazarov presented a project implemented under the social order of the Fund under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The project is aimed at developing gastronomic tourism and implementing a digital service quality assessment system.

During the meeting, issues of forming the Council, mechanisms for interaction between government bodies, businesses, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), as well as ensuring the sustainability and monitoring of the project, were discussed.

Following the meeting, the Coordination Council's work plan was approved, and areas of cooperation with regional and international partners were identified.
