Today, the Public Association DMO Karakalpakstan hosted a meeting with Mathieu Battais, Project Manager at the French architecture and urban planning firm INCA STUDIO, Virginie du Jeu, an expert in cultural engineering and museography, as well as A. Kurbаnov, Advisor at the Representative Office of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The main focus of the meeting was to discuss the prospects for developing the tourism sector in Karakalpakstan and integrating key cultural heritage sites of the region, including the I.V. Savitsky State Museum of Arts, into the long-term development strategy of the territory.
During the meeting, Director of DMO Karakalpakstan M. Kosnazarov introduced the guests to the favorable conditions created in the republic, under the initiative of the Honorable President, for conducting tourism business. He emphasized that these efforts have contributed to the steady year-on-year growth of both international and domestic tourist flows in the region. The French experts, in turn, shared European experience in architectural planning and the preservation of historical heritage.
The guests were also introduced to the activities and plans of the Public Association DMO Karakalpakstan aimed at establishing practical and direct cooperation in the tourism sector with government authorities, private sector representatives, and local communities in rural areas.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their mutual interest in continuing professional exchange of experience and maintaining an ongoing dialogue on the development of the tourism sector.
