The "QR Gastronomic Quality – 2026" Festival was organized within the framework of the "QR Gastronomic Quality" project, implemented by the DMO Karakalpakstan Public Association with financial support provided through a social grant from the Public Fund for the Support of Civil Society Institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
As part of the festival, the first-ever practical restaurant and café service quality competition in the Republic of Karakalpakstan was held. The main objective of the competition was to assess the quality of customer service and hospitality standards in public catering establishments while promoting modern service excellence.
More than 15 restaurants and cafés from Nukus City and remote districts, including Muynak, Takhtakupyr, Chimbay, and other areas of the republic, participated in the competition.
The competition was conducted in two stages.
During the first stage, participants were evaluated based on their ratings, which were generated from customer reviews and evaluations submitted through the QR Gastronomic Quality digital platform.
In the second stage, the selected participants competed in practical service assessments, demonstrating their skills in welcoming guests, providing high-quality customer service, communicating effectively with visitors, resolving challenging situations, and complying with sanitary and hygiene standards.
The practical performance was evaluated by a panel of professional judges according to internationally recognized hospitality service standards. The final winners were determined based on the combined average score of the QR Gastronomic Quality platform ratings and the judges' evaluations.
