A three-day training on sustainable tourism has successfully concluded in the city of Nukus as part of the project "Youth and Women as Ambassadors of Sustainable Tourism in Karakalpakstan", implemented by the DMO Karakalpakstan Public Association with the financial support of the European Union, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and the nationwide movement "Yuksalish."

Over the course of three days, participants explored key topics related to sustainable tourism development. The training programme covered sustainable tourism, ecology and climate change, leadership, advocacy, as well as the development and promotion of local initiatives. Particular attention was given to practical approaches for designing projects that incorporate environmental sustainability principles and address the needs of local communities.

The training was conducted in an interactive format, featuring practical exercises, teamwork, discussions of successful case studies, and the development of participants' own project ideas. The knowledge and skills gained during the training will help participants implement initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of tourism and the preservation of Karakalpakstan's natural and cultural heritage.

At the conclusion of the training, participants received certificates recognizing their successful completion of the programme.

The next phase of the project will focus on the development and presentation of participants' project initiatives. Young people and women from the Muynak and Khojeyli districts, as well as the city of Nukus, will present their project proposals, which will be reviewed and evaluated by an expert panel.
